Who were the best and worst dressed guests at the coronation? Katy Perry misses the fashion mark

Without question, everyone who attended King Charles’s coronation today would have planned their outfits months (and possibly years) in advance! However, just as there are always guests who get it exactly right for a wedding, there are others who unfortunately do the exact opposite.
Now if I put Kate Middleton into the mix of best dressed guests, she would undoubtedly steal the show, so I don’t think on this occasion, it would be fair to add her. However, of course she looked simply impeccable.

Pale yellow was clearly a fashion favourite of the day as both Pippa Middleton and Finnegan Biden opted for this shade. As I predicted nobody was truly that bothered that her grandfather Joe Biden did not attend as they had Finnegan instead. She looked incredibly chic in a silk crepe dress. With Jill Biden dressed in blue and Finnegan in yellow, they obviously were paying tribute to Ukraine as they were seated next to Olena Zelenska.
Pippa Middleton also looked elegant in a pale yellow coat dress with matching dress, however, on this occasion, she was slightly overshadowed by Penny Mordaunt who was having her own ‘Pippa Middleton’ moment. Penny wore a dress by London-based Safiyaa and the exact colour was described as ‘Poseidon’ to honour her Portsmouth constituency.
Now onto the worst dressed guests…
I have to be honest with you that when I first saw Katy Perry in Vivienne Westwood, I thought she looked lovely. However, on closer inspection, I quickly moved her from my best dressed to my worst dressed list. Sorry, Katy, it just didn’t work! First of all it looked creased! Never a good look and overall, was just too much. Don’t get me wrong, I love opera style gloves, but it just felt a bit much and overkill!

The colour was too dark (although I appreciate the weather seemed to reflect darker colours), but it was her footwear that I had a particular issue with. The open toes were just a no no for a rainy day and didn’t work with the formality of her dress.
I also have to add her sister Princess Beatrice to my worst dressed list. Yes I know her hot pink Beaulah dress was undoubtedly better than her sister’s outfit, but the beige coloured headpiece just didn’t work and I personally think the reportedly £37,000 earrings didn’t quite work with the ‘pared back ‘ coronation.
