You returned for season three on Friday (15 October), giving fans another look at the complex love life of stalker/murderer Joe Goldberg.

Picking up from the cliffhanger at the end of season two, the Netflix series follows Joe in his new life with Love Quinn as they raise their new baby.

Here’s all you need to know about the cast of You season three and how many episodes are in the latest series.

When was You season three be released?

You season three will landed on the streaming service on 15 October.

The show was renewed by Netflix on 14 January, and the streaming giant revealed it would premiere in 2021.

However, as the Covid-19 pandemic shut down TV and film productions globally, filming for You season three was delayed.

Showrunner Sera Gamble recently shared an update on filming, posting an Instagram photo of the script for episode 10, with the caption, “Getting closer.”

Who’s in the cast?

Penn Badgley - Joe Goldberg

Penn Badgley returns as the show’s protagonist, Joe Goldberg. Badgley is best known for his role as Dan Humphrey on Gossip Girl. He has also starred in Easy A and John Tucker Must Die.

Victoria Pedretti - Love Quinn

Victoria Pedretti returns as Joe’s girlfriend - and now wife - Love Quinn. Pedretti has featured in a number of horror films, including her break-out role in The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor. She also featured in Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Tati Gabrielle - Marienne

Star of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Tati Gabrielle, also appears in the new series as Marienne. The new character is a librarian who lives in Joe and Love’s neighbourhood who doesn’t let much get by her. Gabrielle has also featured in The 100 and the upcoming series Jigsaw and Uncharted.

Michaela McManus - Natalie

Michaela McManus, who appeared at the end of season two, is Joe’s new neighbour Natalie. McManus is best known for her roles on The Village, The Orville and SEAL Team and One Tree Hill.

Travis Van Winkle - Cary

Playing the husband of influencer Sherry is Travis Van Winkle. His character is a charismatic wealthy business owner who charms Joe into joining his inner circle. Van Winkle has featured in Transformers, Friday the 13th and a The Last Ship.

Shalita Grant - Sherry

Shalita Grant stars as local famous influencer Sherry. Grant is known for her role as Sonja Percy on NCIS: New Orleans. She has also appeared in Mercy Street, Santa Clarita Diet and Search Party.

Scott Speedman - Matthew

Scott Speedman play the wealthy CEO and husband Matthew. Speedman has appeared in numerous features, including Felicity, Last Resort, Animal Kingdom and Grey’s Anatomy.

Dylan Arnold - Theo Engler

Dylan Arnold plays college student Theo Engler. Arnold is best recognisable for his role as Cameron in the Halloween reboot and the sequel Halloween Kills. He also featured in the final series of Nashville.

The series features a host of new characters, including Theo, played by Dylan Arnold. Theo is a college student with a “strained and complicated” relationship with his stepfather. The official description adds: "Theo is wise and perceptive, but vulnerable and troubled, with a propensity to get tangled up in his loved ones’ problems and to drown his own in controlled substances and dangerous behaviour.”

Speaking about bringing back characters in You season three, co-creator Sera Gamble told The Hollywood Reporter, “I don't see why not. Part of the fun of Joe is that he is not very good at doing bad things. He doesn't plan them well. He doesn't execute them perfectly like a mastermind.

“And so there is always the worry that things from his past are going to catch up with him. What's great about that is it creates a landscape for the show where you do get to revisit your favorite characters moving forward.”

She added, “One of my favorite things to do is bring back a dead person to haunt you. So the door is wide open for everybody's favorite characters.”

What will the plot be?

You season three will follow the shocking events of the season two finale..

Season two ended with Love Quinn confessing to murdering Delilah and Candace, and revealing to Joe that she was pregnant with his baby.

The couple moved to the suburbs to have and raise their baby, but viewers got a final revelation that Joe’s obsessive fixations had not gone away.

At the end of the series, viewers saw that he had turned his attention towards their new neighbour. In a teaser for the third season, Joe is seen staring at his neighbour from behind the fence saying to himself : “This is just the beginning. Because this is where I had to be exactly where I had to be to meet You."

Sera Gamble explained that the final scene shows “Joe is still Joe in a way that's not going to be great for Joe…. It seems clear that he's falling into some version of that same pattern. I can't say that we know exactly what a season three would be, but I can say things won't go well for Joe.”
