Wren Kitchens Chapter 7: Reddit users react to company ceasing operations in the US
Wren Kitchens has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in the US.
Reddit users have been reacting to Wren Kitchens filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in the US and shutting all 15 of their retail stores located there. If you try to access their US website, the message reads: “We regret to inform you that our showrooms and studios are now closed.”
This message has not stopped customers in the US leaving messages on the company’s Instagram. One person wrote: “I was expecting delivery Thursday in the US and you guys just shut down? I know my cabinets are made and sitting in a warehouse somewhere.. how can I get them?”
Reddit users have also been reacting to the news and one wrote: “My nephew is out of a job - his boss was on a zoom meeting, gathered him and his coworker, and told them the company was ceasing business in the US and was letting go of everyone, including his boss. Really sh*tty way of doing business.”
Another user wrote: “I’m sorry to hear that I’m in MOUNT LAUREL New Jersey and the Store in Cherry Hill of course is closed as well. We had a couple of people leave here to go there and now they’re out of a job and I don’t think HOME DEPOT will hire them back here.”
One other Reddit user said: “Designers who worked in the NYC/QUEENS or Long Island area please send me your resumes. I used to be a Kitchen Designer at Wren but realized the company was going downhill so I left and started designing at a different company. They are planning on hiring soon so if you need a job let me know.”

Home Depot shared an emailed statement with USA Today which read: “We had no previous notice of Wren’s intent to close, and we’re actively evaluating how this has affected Wren customers to help those who may have questions or issues.
They added that “Wren Kitchens has alerted us that they’ve ceased operations in the United States, which includes closing their showrooms in our stores.”
What is Chapter 7 bankruptcy?
According to the IRS, “Liquidation under Chapter 7 is a common form of bankruptcy. It is available to individuals who cannot make regular, monthly, payments toward their debts. Businesses choosing to terminate their enterprises may also file Chapter 7. Chapter 7 provides relief to debtors regardless of the amount of debts owed or whether a debtor is solvent or insolvent.”
