Ex-Chelsea star Alvaro Morata responds to cheating claims as he confirms he and influencer wife Alice Campello are over for good

Alvaro Morata has confirmed he and wife Alice Campello are splitting for good after they tried and to rekindle their eight year marriage.

33-year-old Morata first split with his influencer wife Campello, aged 30, in August 2024, shortly after Spain's Euro 2024 victory.

The couple, who share four young children, got back together last January, however, but have now broken up again. Morata has confirmed their split is final amid local reports that the pair are living separately in Milan.

Morata has said that himself and Campello just “don't understand each other”. “We are suffering because we are two people who love each other, but we don't understand each other,” he told Alexia Rivas, a contributor to the program Fiesta.

Last month, Spanish magazine Hola reported that Morata had moved out of the family home he shares with Campello and their children - twins Alessandro, Leonardo, and also Edoardo, and Bella.

The duo are said to have maintained a cordial relationship for their children despite their marriage breakdown.

Local reports claimed that the break-up was influenced by Morata having an affair with Elena Sirigu, a sports management expert. He has now also broken his silence on this rumours - and absolutely denied them.

“[I have] no special friend or anything like that, I'm not interested in that right now,” he told Fiesta. “The day I have a special friend, I'll walk around with her normally and you'll see.

“People who claim there are third parties involved in a separation like this, especially with children involved, simply have no heart.”

Campello has also denied any suggestions that her now estranged husband cheated on her. “Elena is a family friend whom I've known for years, and I can say with absolute certainty that she is not that kind of person and has never done anything she's been accused of. I'm speaking out publicly because I'm deeply convinced of this,' the model and influencer wrote on social media.

“She called me crying because of everything that's been said about her, and she doesn't deserve to be labelled a ‘family wrecker’. I'm defending Elena because she's innocent and because, as a woman, I know very well how much certain accusations can hurt, damage, and leave deep scars on someone's personal, professional, and family life.

'She doesn't deserve this exposure or to have her name associated with things she hasn't done. . . She’s a serious person with values and a respectable family.”

Morata and Campello’s twins Alessandro and Leonardo who were born in 2018, their son Edoardo was born in 2020 and their daughter Bella arrived in 2023.

At the end of December 2025 Alice Campello took to Instagram and in a translated post wrote: “This year has been full of beautiful moments and others that tested me. Today, more than ever, I am convinced that even difficult experiences are necessary to become the best versions of ourselves.”
