The One Direction singer died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires aged 31.

Fans are in shock this morning as news of the One Direction star’s death spread around the world. According to reports Liam Payne fell from his balcony at the Casa Sur hotel and died due to the singer suffering very serious injuries incompatible with life. Local authorities have said they will conduct an autopsy and investigate the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

Liam Payne rose to fame after appearing on the X-Factor and becoming one of the biggest boy bands in the world. The boyband One Direction consisted of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik. The band took an indefinite hiatus in January 2016 but the singer went on to have solo success.

Liam Payne shared a seven-year-old-son Bear with Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole. The pair dated for two years and have stayed friends since, continuing to co-parenting their son.  

Who are Liam Payne’s parents?

Liam Payne was born in Wolverhampton and his mother Karen Payne was an infant nurse, and father Geoff Payne is reportedly a fitter at Goodrich aerospace. 

Who are Liam Payne’s siblings? 

Liam Payne has two older sisters Nicola and Ruth. Not much is known about his family, but his sister Ruth has previously shared snaps of the siblings altogether. Ruth married her husband in 2016 and she has a son.
