Love Is Blind season 10’s Elissa had to be rushed to hospital after accidentally pouring nail glue into her eyes

Elissa Finley was going on dates with potential husbands-to-be in the famous Love Is Blind pods, when she had an accident which meant she had to be quickly taken to the hospital.

The TV star needed emergency medical treatment after she accidentally poured nail glue into her eyes, thinking they were her eye drops.

Now, she’s spoken out about what happened to her, explaining that there was one thing which prevented her from losing her eye entirely - her own medical background.

Recalling what happened, she said: “I was midway through one of the days when I’d gone on four dates, and there was a break. I went into the dressing room, and I just saw a little bottle on the table that looked like eye drops that we use in the hospital.”

But Elissa accidentally ended up picking up a bottle of nail glue rather than her eye drops, saying: “I put it in my eye, and I was like, ‘Holy cr*p. That is thick.’”

She then realised what she’d put in her eye, and medics came into the pods to help her. Luckily, she remembered her ICU training and knew the one thing she must avoid doing was closing her eyes.

She said: “I held my eye open because if you shut it, and you got glue, you’re going to pull off your skin. Luckily, I had a contacts in, which ended up saving my eyeball.”

Elissa said she didn’t want to leave the pods, and wanted to carry on with her dates, but the Love Is Blind medical team insisted she attended the hospital to get her eye checked.

Once there, doctors told her she had a corneal abrasion. Elissa said: “I had to sit there with a bag of saline, just flushing my eye. I got the glue out, and then I saved my lashes, thankfully.”

She had to wear an eye patch to go back home, and was then able to return to the pods the next day, where she told her co-stars why she left the experiment so suddenly. They were all “kind of freaked” she said, but were all very supportive of her. Her eye started healing soon after and she resumed her quest for love.

Elissa added: “Did you know that eyes heal the fastest? By day two, it was just a little blurry and not irritating. I just couldn’t wear my contacts, so I was in the pods half blind. I mean, I was really committed to this.”

Elissa went on to get engaged to Miguel - but the couple split shortly after he proposed, and as such their dates and engagement won’t be included as part of the edit. According to Reality Steve, Miguel ghosted Elissa once when they got back to Ohio after the reveal, so no wonder they didn’t make it down the aisle. Plus, “he has since gotten engaged to someone else not affiliated with the show.”

What’s more: “Miguel also ended an engagement in 2024. The Elissa engagement happened in March of 2025, and then his current engagement happened end of last year”, so says Reality Steve.
