In the pursuit of love, there few things more daring that one could do than marry a stranger moments after meeting them.
Yet, year after year that’s exactly what a handful of Aussie singles do in dating show Married at First Sight Australia. It might seem like an extreme way to find lasting love, but for some lucky few couples it actually works out and they find their ideal Mr or Mrs.
Scroll through our gallery to see the eight MAFS Aus couples, from all 12 seasons, who have remained together long after their final vows were filmed - including some who met on the show, but not in the most conventional way.

5. Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis
Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis both appeared on season 10 of Married at First Sight: Australia, but they weren't matched. Neither of their relationships worked out, however, and after the season finished they began dating. They confirmed their relationship in May 2023 and now regularly post photos together on Instagram. 6. Jade Pywell and Ridge Barredo.
Jade Pywell and Ridge Barredo also met during season 11. They were one of the series usual latecomers, but they have stood the test of time. They did run in to their challenges, and Pywell at times worried that her husband was too immature, particularly as she had a young daughter to consider. But, their Instagram posts prove they are a loved up family now. The pair celebrated their one year anniversary in August and marked the milestone by jetting off to Turkey together. 7. Jonathan McCullough and Ellie Dix
Jonathan McCullough and Ellie Dix are one of the success stories of season 11 - but they weren't actually in the experiment together. The pair were each matched with other people, but found that they preferred each other. Dix’s marriage to Ben Walters came to an end after a few weeks as the couple struggled to agree on their relationship goals and he blew hot and cold. Jonathan, known as Jono, meanwhile, experienced an up-and-down marriage with Lauren Dunn. They had made it to the final dinner party, however, and were looking forward to final vows - that was until McCullough’s cheating with Dix was exposed. It was during that dinner party that fellow bride Tori Adams confronted him about messaging Dix without Dunn knowing. He initially claimed the pair were “just friends” and insisted that she “wasn’t his type” - but just weeks later at the reunion the Jono and Ellie walked in hand-in-hand and announced their relationship to the group. They then insisted that their relationship had not started until after they had each left the experiment. In November they celebrated one year together and announced they had bought a house. 8. Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels
Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels made MAFS history in 2025's season 12 as knew each other before they entered their experiment. They had dated the year prior, but their relationship had fizzled. They gave their romance a second shot, however. They took things slow in the experiment, and took their time to get to know each other on a deeper level before returning to their physical relationship. They showed their love throughout the experience, and were the only couple who both chose not to meet their other match during final test week. They entered the reunion together, and in April they confirmed on Instagram that that they are very much together and very much in love in real life. Photo by Channel Nine. | Channel Nine
