Married at First Sight UK couple Charlie and Eve seemingly split after their romance turned sour on honeymoon

The new Married at First Sight UK couples have barely finished their wedding cake, but it seems one of the couples have already split.

One of the brides Charlie Curtis has seemingly confirmed she's split from her wife Eve Reid after viewers saw their strong connection crumble during their honeymoon.

The hugely popular reality dating show returned to E4 for a brand-new series last week, and the pair seemed like they were on track for a wonderful romance after they had a dreamy wedding day and both spoke of their instant spark.

Within hours of meeting Charlie, 30, even said that she might already be in love with her new wife, 31, because she had such intense feelings for her. It’s no surprise, therefore, that viewers initially declared them an early favourite couple.

But, anyone who is a long-term fan of the show knows that first impressions on the show are rarely correct. There was still shock, however, and just how quickly the relationship between the pair deteriorated.

The trouble started while they were on honeymoon in Mexico. While Charlie excitedly told the cameras the pair had slept together multiple times just hours after arriving, Eve admitted that the union was moving a bit too fast for her.

She ended up telling her new wife that she needed space, and chose to sleep in a seperate apartment for every night of the trip. Charlie viewed this as rejection and was deeply hurt by Eve’s need to have time alone.

Every time they tried to reunite and resolve their differences they ended up in another argument, as they also discovered they have different approaches to disagreements.

The last time viewers saw the troubled pair on screen was during Wednesday night’s episode (September 18). At the end of their last explosive argument, Charlie shouted to her wife as she walked away from her: "I'll be leaving the experiment now. They'll be no moving in together, no apartments, nothing. Goodbye!"

Scenes have not yet aired confirming whether or not Charlie does actually make a very early exit from the show. But, the reality star has recently shared a cryptic post about “every cloud having a silver lining” on Instagram, which includes a photo of her sat alone during the honeymoon. She wrote in the caption: “On the plus side, Mexico was beautiful, every cloud and all that”.

It comes after fans also noticed Eve had dropped a huge hint on her Instagram page that she didn't make it very far in the process. She recently posted a photo of herself holding hands with a mystery woman - but has not mentioned her participation in the show.

Writing on Reddit, one fan speculated: “On Instagram she clearly has a girlfriend (look at her most recent post and comments), she has also posted nothing about MAFS at all. I have a feeling she may have dropped out of the show early as she doesn’t even acknowledge that she’s on it?”

While another added: “Thank you! Definitely strange. And that she’s openly posting about a gf.”

It would appear, however, that the pair didn’t actually leave the experiment after their honeymoon as spoilers posted on Instagram by E4 giving a first look at what’s coming up on this week’s episodes show them during the first commitment ceremony, with Eve looking like she was in tears.

The commitment ceremony sees the couples speak to the relationship experts who match them, Mel Schilling, Charlene Douglas and Paul C Brunson, to discuss how their relationships are going.

  • Married at First Sight UK airs every Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
