MTV star and singer 'lucky' he didn't die or was paralysed after stage fall - but he has big health issue
Spanish singer and MTV star Mario Vaquerizo fell off a revolving stage during a performance with his group, Nancys Rubias, leaving him unconscious and injured. The-50-year-old performer said he "could have died or been left paralysed" in the frightening incident.
He did survive, but Vaquerizo was left with serious injuries after the incident. He was rushed to a neartby hospital, and was later seen leaving the facility in a wheelchair. Speaking from his Madrid home, the Mexican singer-songwriter said he had fractured two vertebrae in his spine and also blurred version. According to the Mail Online, he said: "The doctors have said the fall generated a liquid which invaded the retina and at the moment everything's blurred and I can't see anything close-up.”

Hide AdHe added: “All the doctors and nurses have said I was very lucky. A fall like that can kill you or leave you paralysed." He said that he had fallen due to bad luck after tripping and losing his balance, assuring fans that all safety show procedures were in order. "I've never been knocked out like that," he added. "I woke up in my dressing room with my friends around me crying," reports the Mirror.


There are reports that the star had stumbled in his platform shoes as he punched his right fist in the air at the end of a song, which then led to his horror fall on Saturday (October 19).
Vaquerizo became famous on the Spanish reality show Alaska y Mario on MTV Spain. The reality show depicted his life with his wife, fellow singer-songwriter and actress Alaska, whom he married in Las Vegas in 1999. He is also known for his appearances on different Spanish radio and TV shows, and is the voice of Frankenstein in the Spanish language version of the animated family film Hotel Transylvania.
Alaska, who has had number one hits in several countries around the world and starred as herself alongside her husband/manger in the MTV Spain reality series Alaska and Mario, was in Venice when her husband was rushed to hospital. She told MailOnline: “It was a terrible scare.”
