Selena Gomez is a former child star who trod the well-worn path to a pop career. She would be very successful for her artistic achievements alone, but her Rare Beauty make-up company, founded in 2020, exploded in popularity and is now worth about $1.4bn, according to Celebritynetworth.com. It's thought she owns 51% of the brand. One of the extended Jenner / Kardashian family, Kylie Jenner was born into wealth and combined her television exposure with business nous to establish Kylie Cosmetics, which, when part-sold in 2019 to Coty Inc, made her $600m. She is hugely popular - and can therefore demand big fees for endorsements - on social media, and is thought to earn more than $60m a year. She isn't despite earlier claims, a billionaire. But like Ryan Reynolds, the bulk of his fortune comes from selling a spirits company - in his case Casamigos Tequila, which he co-founded and sold to drinks giant Diageo in 2017.
