Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Kate Winslet among movie stars born in Lunar Year of the Rabbit

They say that out of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac, the rabbit is the luckiest and for those born in the Lunar Year, they bring calm and peaceful qualities to the table but can take quick action if needed.

In addition to the relaxing demeanour of those born in the Year of the Rabbit, they are also said to be insecure or sensitive people who dislike change due to their avoidance of criticism, as well as having a good taste in life and having a higher IQ.

The last Year of the Rabbit was 2011, in which the HBO show Game of Thrones premiered, the Harry Potter film series concluded and Charlie Sheen was fired from his starring role in Two and a Half Men.

As we leave the Year of the Tiger behind and in honour of the Lunar Year taking place on Sunday, 22 January, PeopleWorld takes a look at movie stars who were born in this lucky year:

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt was born on 18 December 1963 and has built a hugely successful career on the silver screen.

Much like the Rabbit who can take quick action, Brad Pitt is known for some of his large action movies including Mr and Mrs Smith, Fight Club or most recently Bullet Train.

Brad has been closely connected to two other Rabbits after being married to Angelina Jolie and starring in two of Quentin Tarantino’s productions - even clinching an Oscar for his supporting role in Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood.

Angelina Jolie

Born on 4 June 1975, Angelina Jolie is known for her humanitarian and charitable work as well as her stellar movies.

In terms of her humanitarianism, Angelina has been a UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2010 and has adopted children from different countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Ethiopia.

Film credits to Angelina’s name are Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Girl, Interrupted and Maleficent - and although the Evil Queen is known for being a raven, Angelina is a true Rabbit.

Johnny Depp

A well-known actor born in the Year of the Rabbit is Johnny Depp, who has cemented himself in Hollywood from roles such as Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands and Willy Wonka.

Johnny was born in 1963, and must be hoping to have a luckier this year after being in the headlines for most of 2022 following his high-profile court case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Johnny exudes calm and is also a notable singer who recently was seen hanging out with Sam Fender in Newcastle.

Kate Winslet

A Titanic star born in the Year of the Rabbit is Kate Winslet who celebrates her birthday on 5 October 1975.

The English movie star’s rise to fame was cemented by the 1997 film alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, and celebrates its 25th anniversary in this new Lunar Year.

While she may have entered the industry with a splash, Kate has accumulated a host of amazing acting and producing credits since with The Reader, Revolutionary Road and The Holiday all receiving critical acclaim.

Quentin Tarantino

Another 1963 baby, Quentin Tarantino is known for his blockbuster productions exemplified by Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and Hateful Eight to name a few.

The Tennessee-born director made his debut in 1992 and has been awarded with an Oscar among numerous other accolades, showing his hard-work is rewarded.

As suggested by the Lunar of the Year, Quentin must have good taste evident by his stellar cinematography, curt dialogues and high-paced action sequences in addition to his star-studded cast lists.
