Are Reese Witherspoon and Tom Brady secretly dating? Could this be the hot new couple of 2023

The rumour mill has gone into overdrive as Reese Witherspoon and Tom Brady are meant to be 'dating'. The Legally Blonde actress revealed in March that she is divorcing husband Jim Toth after 11 years whilst the American footballer announced his divorce from ex-wife supermodel Gisele Bündchen in October. 

Gossip blogger 'Deaux Moi' shared an email from an ‘insider’ claiming “Epic and unexpected celeb couple,” and the “A-list actress who JUST announced her divorce is a newly dating A-list NFL athlete who is also recently divorced.” If that wasn’t enough to make you link Reese and Tom together then the email of the ‘insider’ definitely will “legally blonde [at] patriots buccaeers [dot] com”

But just because these two are single doesn’t mean necessarily they're dating. We take a look at the evidence to see if these two have anything in common and see if there is anything behind this theory. 

Divorce and kids 

Reese and Tom are going through divorces and both single after long-term marriages and have children from previous relationships. The actress has two children Ava, 23 and Deacon 19 from her previous marriage to actor Ryan Philippe and a youngest son Tennessee,10 to Jim. Tom has a son John, 15 with ex-girlfriend actress Bridget Moynahan and two children Benjamin, 13 and Vivian, 10 from his marriage to Gisele.

Paycheck Protection Programme (PPP) Scandal 

A slightly controversial connection but during the pandemic Reese and Tom were both allegedly involved in the PPP loans scandal. The Daily Mail reported Tom Brady and Reese Witherspoon borrowed close to a million dollars under the PPP scheme. It was introduced in the US to help small businesses stay afloat. Kim Kardashian, Kanye West were also named during the scandal.

Celebrity lifestyle

These two have enjoyed a life of luxury and celebrity notoriety so together they could be the next power couple and put them in the realms of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Jlo and Ben Affleck or Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. They may live over 2000 miles apart (Reese is based in LA and Tom in Miami) but what’s a four hour flight when money isn't an issue. Plus Tom has some free time after he announced his retirement from football. 

They could easily make it work, even the fans are all for it. One person wrote on twitter: “I can’t explain why but Reese Witherspoon and Tom Brady somehow make sense to me?” We couldn’t agree more.
