Bafta 2026 odds: Who is likely to win best actor, best film and best director as bookies unveil market spread
The showbiz awards season is well and truly in swing, as the Bafta nominees are announced for 2026.
As has been the case with plenty of other award nominations, Sinners is the most popular film to be shortlisted in multiple categories, having released in 2025 to widespread critical acclaim.
The awards aim to highlight the best of British film, with prizes in categories such as costume design, production design and children’s film; taking place on Sunday, February 22, the event is expected to be another star-studded affair.

Alan Cumming will be taking on hosting duties for the night, having presented the Bafta TV awards last year.
Emma Baehr, executive director of awards and content at Bafta, said: “With his sharp wit, warmth and vibrant energy, we are beyond excited that Alan Cumming will be hosting this year’s EE Bafta Film Awards.
“As we honour the outstanding talent in film that brings stories to life on screen, we know that Alan will give us an unforgettable night full of laughter, magic and plenty of surprises, and maybe some extraordinary outfits.”
With the nominations already out, the bookies have started taking bets on who could be the winners.
Shane Orton, spokesperson for SportsCasting, said: “The markets are already forming clear favourites across the Bafta categories. One Battle After Another is leading the way in best film and director, while Hamnet is featuring heavily across the British film and acting races.”
