Although it should have all been about Brooke Shields on the red carpet at the premiere of her documentary, Pretty Baby, in New York City, she made sure that her 16 year old daughter Grier Hammond Henchy got equal billing at the event. Grier looked very chic in a red trouser suit, and wore her hair slicked back in a ponytail.

Chris Henchy, the husband of Brooke, was also at the premiere to support his wife. They also share a 19 year old daughter, Rowan, together. The couple wed in 2001 and Brooke was previously married to tennis star Andre Agassi.

Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy appear to have a very strong marriage (particularly when it comes to Hollywood) and she often shares photographs of her family on Instagram. Six days ago, she shared images of her husband and their daughters over the years to mark his birthday. The caption read: “Happy birthday to my love!! We love you so much Chris!”

Although Brooke and Chris have a close knit family, it was reportedly not easy for Brooke to conceive her daughters and it is believed she endured many rounds of IVF. According to Harper’s Bazaar, “After that final round of IVF, Shields became pregnant. She has been a spokesperson for Fertility Lifelines, a resource that provides information and support to women struggling with infertility.”

When it comes to bringing up her two daughters, Brooke has always been concerned about them growing up in the social media world. In 2022, she told People: “What I do really reiterate over and over again is that what you see may not be the reality. And you can’t just accept because the spotlight’s on it and it’s on Instagram. You really have to know that it’s the world of Oz because behind the curtain, that’s where you live.”

Brooke Shields recently discussed her difficult childhood and more specifically her relationship with her mother Teri Shields and father Frank Shields in a recent interview with The Sunday Times. According to The Insider, Brooke was exposed to many things at a very early age such as “a fully-nude photoshoot for a Playboy publication at age 10, a role in ‘Pretty Baby,’ a movie about a child prostitute and a handful of other films with overtly sexual themes, like ‘The Blue Lagoon.”

In her new documentary, Brooke Shields discusses her 1978 film ‘Pretty Baby’ with both her daughters Rowan and Grier. “That was hard for me, to not justify my mom to them, but when they asked me, I thought, ‘Oh God, I have to admit this,’” she said.

Although many have questioned Brooke’s mother's decision to let her play a child prostitute, according to The Independent, “Shields has made it clear that she doesn’t feel any anger towards her.” Brooke revealed that “Everyone always wanted me to be angry with her, but anger was just too sad for me to take when I looked at how insecure she was.”
