As the audience gathered inside the Grand Theatre Lumière in Cannes, surrounded by peers and respective members of the film industry, the host took to the stage to welcome everyone to the tribute to Harrison Ford, as the star was set to receive an honorary Palme d’Or for his contribution to film. Among the names that were mentioned before announcing Ford himself, one name in particular elicited a rousing applause.
We’d often wondered where Calista Flockhart went; very much part of the late ‘90s zeitgeist through her work on Ally McBeal (and that dancing baby meme before ‘meme’ became a household word) and shortly thereafter on Sons and Daughters, things have seemed rather quiet compared to her heady heights of fame - and then the media storm regarding the age-gap between herself and Harrison Ford.

So pardon everyone’s ignorance, but where has Calista Flockhart been for the last few years? Not as much in the wilderness after the cancellation of Sons and Daughter in 2011 as we might have assumed…

Although film has not been kind to Flockhart in terms of roles, it has always been television where the actress has thrived. Rather than be front and centre though, Flockhart instead has been enjoying being involved in ensemble pieces - playing Ellen Kelly-O'Rourke in five episodes of Full Circle and even voicing a role on Adult Swim’s cult classic, Robot Chicken.
But the majority of her small screen time has been as part of the DC television universe, portraying Cat Grant in Supergirl - a role formerly played by Tracy Scroggins in the ‘90s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She was a regular cast member in the first season, before assuming guest roles in the series since.

The production was directed by Gordon Greenberg and also starred Aimee Carrero and Graham Phillips.
