As Florence Pugh’s dad attacks East Oxford LTN, who is her dad and what did he say?

Whilst his Hollywood daughter Florence Pugh is currently enjoying the success of Oppenheimer, her father Clinton Pugh has more pressing local issues on his mind. According to Sky News, “Clinton Pugh, who owns businesses in Cowley Road, has criticised the East Oxford LTN which was introduced as a trial in May 2022 by Oxfordshire County Council.”

Clinton Pugh spoke to Sky News about his thoughts on the matter and said: “It has become more difficult to get here, people just don’t come.” He went on to say that “You can’t get staff, they can’t get home or they have to have taxis. The cost of these things is just astronomical and people don’t want to work.”

One of the businesses that Clinton Pugh owns is called Cafe Tarifa and he said that “The losses have been so high that I have lost a site.” On the website for Cafe Tarifa, which says it is part of the Cafe CoCo Group, it reveals that “it is an amazing space to have a private function or party!”

Florence Pugh grew up in Oxfordshire, her mother is Deborah Mackin (who was a classically trained ballet dancer who became an aerobics instructor). According to Vogue,  Florence’s father  “met her mother in one of these classes, and the two settled down in Oxfordshire, where he established a small empire of eateries—an eclectic range of establishments, pulling from Mexican, Moroccan, Spanish, and other influences. Arabella (now an actor and voice coach) was the first child to be born, then Sebastian (actor and musician), then Florence, who would eventually be followed by Rafaela, or Mole, as the family called her because of the way her hands crept over the covers when she was sleeping—“like a little mole,” 

In February 2023, Florence was seen out for lunch with her boyfriend, photographer Charlie Gooch, her sister Rafaela and her mother Deborah in London. Florence previously dated American actor Zach Braff but the couple split up in 2022.
