As Aaron Taylor-Johnson emerges as James Bond frontrunner, we look at his relationship with film director wife Sam

It was only yesterday that PeopleWorld was writing about Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount as a frontrunner to be the next James Bond, and now it seems Aaron Taylor-Johnson might have overtaken him!

It has been reported that the 32-year-old actor met with 007 producers to discuss the possibility of him taking over from Daniel Craig following his exit from the franchise and is said to have filmed a secret audition late last year.

Aaron is known for his role of the title character in the Kick-Ass movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe character Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

As for Aaron’s personal life, he has been married to film director Sam Taylor-Johnson since 2012. There is a 23 year age difference between the couple and they met on the set of the 2009 John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy when he was 18 and Sam was 42. She was the director of the movie.

The couple, who have two daughters together, Wylda Rae and Romy wed in a ceremony in Somerset in 2012.

Over recent years, fans were speculating whether the couple were heading for a split. It later came to the surface that this rumour might have only come about because the pair decided to put their $7.5 million Hollywood homes on the market.

Before marrying Sam, Aaron was known as Aaron Johnson and Sam was known as Sam Taylor-Wood. When the couple wed, they decided to opt for the married name Taylor-Johnson.

As well as working together on Nowhere Boy, the couple collaborated once again in 2018 with their adaptation of James Frey’s pseudo-memoir A Million Little Pieces.

In 2019, the couple gave a rare interview to Harper’s Bazaar where Aaron revealed when he fell in love with his wife. “I remember it very, very clearly. I know exactly what she was wearing. This white shirt that she still has, that I love. It definitely changed my life, though not in the way I expected.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s relationship with his wife Sam seems stronger than ever today and the couple renewed their wedding vows last year after 10 years of marriage.

He revealed to his Instagram followers that “We… confessed our love in front of our nearest and dearest friends and family. It was a celebration of love and joy!”

Aaron ended the message to his followers with these words: “Sammy, you are my love, my life, my soulmate, my wife, my world!”
