She's already proven her comedy genius in Silver Linings, as well as bringing humour to many of her real-life appearances in interviews, red carpet events and award ceremonies, and Jennifer Lawrence is back for a light-hearted movie role in No Hard Feelings.

The premise is a 19-year-old male named Percy, played by Andrew Feldman, is going to Princeton and Maddie, played by Lawrence, is hired by his parents to seduce him. Judging by the trailer, it feels a long way from the last film Lawrence did in 2022 called Causeway.

Causeway was an independent film in which Lawrence played a soldier with a brain injury. There's always variety in the parts Lawrence takes on and so her foray back into the lighter world of No Hard Feelings is not surprising, especially as she welcomed a child in February 2022 with her husband Cooke Maroney and is perhaps now picking projects based on her young son, Cy.

Lawrence's husband is an art gallery director and the pair have been very private about their relationship and ensuring they stay out of the spotlight. It seems remarkable that Lawrence, who won an Oscar for Best Actress in Silver Linings, has not courted the limelight more.

She has become well known for her down-to-earth qualities and was described by the director Adam McKay, who directed her in the 2021 film Don't Look Up, as "a strong, funny truth-teller". He further elaborated on Lawrence: "No one has more beautiful anger than Jen. When she unleashes, it is a sight to behold."

Her performance alongside the young Andrew Feldman, who plays a 19-year-old in No Hard Feelings and in real life is just 20, is also allowing her more creative control as she is credited as a producer. Lawrence was also a producer on the film Causeway.

Andrew Feldman

A newbie to the world of the big screen, at just 20 years old Feldman has plenty to look forward to for future roles. He had his television acting debut in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, a Disney+ production.

In 2021 he appeared in Thespians, a short film by Casey Likes. His feature film acting debut came in the form of A Tourist's Guide to Love for Netflix.

No Hard Feelings and A Tourist's Guide to Love will both be released in 2023.

Matthew Broderick

The star of the cult classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, released in 1986, Broderick has enjoyed four decades of acting work. He's the winner of two Tony Awards, one for Brighton Beach Memoirs and another for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

He plays the role of a worried parent to Percy, played by Feldman, in No Hard Feelings and employs the help of Lawrence's character, Maddie. Comedy is a recurring theme of Broderick's work. He played the role of Michael Burr in the comedy-drama series Daybreak for Netflix. He's also recently been in a comedy play by Neil Simon called Plaza Suite, alongside his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, in 2022.

Laura Benanti

Another veteran of the stage, alongside her No Hard Feelings co-star Broderick, Benanti has received five Tony Award nominations. Comedy is also her forte as she's appeared on the satire programme The Late Show with Stephen Colbert since 2016, in a recurring role playing the former First Lady Melania Trump.

Her last film before No Hard Feelings was in Tick, Tick...Boom! an American biographical musical film about Jonathan Larson, a composer and playwright, out in 2021. She also played the role of Francine Burnz in Here Today, a film also out in 2021.
