Marvel’s Jeremy Renner became a real life superhero when he saved his nephew from a seven tonne snow cat on New Year’s Day, near his Nevada home.

The Hawkeye actor was towing his nephew’s truck out of the snow and as he got out of the vehicle to help, he tried to stop or divert the machine sliding towards his family member after the emergency brake was not applied.

As a result, the accident left Jeremy with eight broken ribs in 14 different places, a broken eye socket, a collapsed lung and a pierced liver.

Speaking in his first interview since the accident namely Jeremy Renner: The Diane Sawyer Interview – A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph, Jeremy says that when he looks in the mirror he sees a ‘lucky man’.

Jeremy said in the trailer: “I was awake through every moment…I’d do it again because it was going right at my nephew.”

The 52-year-old added: “I’ve lost a lot of flesh and bone in this experience but I’ve been refuelled and refilled with love and titanium.”

While the trailer was released last week, Jeremy shared an Instagram post ahead of the interview that takes place this Thursday.

He invited people who wanted to know the ‘411 on his 911 situation’ to watch the Diane Sawyer interview as audio clips were shown of the emergency services reacting to the accident.

Jeremy commented: “Thank you for all the positive, loving prayers for me and my family! I am so truly grateful and honestly overwhelmed with such goodness. It has taken the immediate actions of so many people that has kept me here alive. Thank you will never be enough to express my gratitude…so I can offer up some ‘Free snow cat Rides’...”

You can watch the Jeremy Renner interview which airs on the US channel ABC on Thursday 6 April, on Disney+ ahead of Jeremy’s new series ‘Rennervations’ premiere.
