Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley has passed away following a cardiac arrest at her Calabasas home.

The 54-year-old singer song-writer, who released three albums, was the only child of the King of Rock and Roll and actress Priscilla Presley, and notably tied the knot four times with marriages to singer Michael Jackson and actor Nicolas Cage.

Lisa Marie was seen earlier this week with actor Austin Butler at the Golden Globes, who took on the role of Elvis in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic, and picked up a trophy for his leading role.

The late singer sung Austin’s praises for his portrayal of her father, saying, ‘he’s such a sweetheart - an authentic, true sweetheart.’

Lisa’s death comes days after Elvis’ birthday on 8 January, and tributes have been flooding in remembering the life of the ‘Storm and Grace’ singer including Tom Hanks and John Travolta.

Tom Hanks said in a joint statement with his wife Rita Wilson: "We are heartbroken over the loss of Lisa Marie Presley. Absolutely broken." The couple became close with Lisa while promoting the Elvis biopic as Tom starred as Colonel Tom Parker.

Another notable tribute was given by John Travolta, who shared a post to Instagram which read: "Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again. My love and my heart goes to Riley, Priscilla, Harper and Finley."

Lisa Marie is survived by her three daughters, Riley Keough and twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, as well as her mother Priscilla Presley.

While Priscilla spoke about Lisa in an Instagram post, the singer’s eldest daughter actress Riley had previously spoken about how ‘inspirational’ her mother was, when she was preparing for her starring role in ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’.

Riley plays Daisy Jones, a rock and roll musician, in the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s book alongside Suki Waterhouse and Sam Claflin and said:

"My mother is certainly an inspiration to me…she is a very strong, smart woman. I was raised by somebody who did their own thing and didn’t really care what other people thought. She was definitely inspirational to me."

On the evening of the Golden Globes just a few days ago, Keough instagrammed a photo of her mother at the event with the words: 'How beautiful is my mama?!'

Who is Riley Keough?

Before finding her acting career, Riley was a model who walked in shows for Dolce and Gabbana and Dior and appeared on the front cover of US’ Vogue.

Riley is married to an Australian stuntman called Ben Smith-Peterson, who she met while filming reshoots Down Under for Mad Max as there was a smaller cast and crew. In an interview with USA Today in April 2016, Riley suggested that she knew two weeks in to dating Ben that she knew she had met her husband.

The heartbreaking loss of Riley’s mother Lisa Marie Presley comes two years after the death of Riley’s brother Benjamin, who passed away from suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.
