Although Margot Robbie is going from strength to strength with her new 2022 films Amsterdam and Babylon, the Australian actress’ spotlight may have been robbed last night.

Margot attended the Los Angeles premiere of Babylon with her stylish mum Sarie Kessler on her arm, as the mother-daughter duo stunned in matching black gowns.

The Academy Award-nominee looked fabulous in a hooded black gown while her mother donned a stylish floor-length dress with a high leg slit and beaded shoulders.

Some may even recognise Sarie from the 2018 Oscars as Margot brought her mum once again as her partner in crime on the red carpet.

Margot has a close relationship with her mum after the now-65-year-old physiotherapist brought Margot and her three siblings up by herself. Sarie used to help the elderly but as Margot’s career took off, Sarie turned her focus and job as a physiotherapist to work with disabled children.

Margot previously said about her mum: “She was a single mother raising my brothers and sister and I by herself and we didn’t make life easy for her. We were always fighting and my mum had to be a very strong woman to hold things together.”

Throughout Margot’s blossoming career from her breakthrough in Wolf of Wall Street alongside acting A-Listers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill to Thursday’s premiere of Babylon, Sarie has stood by her side.

Babylon, Margot’s newest release, captures the essence of Hollywood in the 1920s as films evolve from silent pictures to talkies.

Much like her strong mother and her character Nellie LaRoy in Babylon, Margot has been showing her strength in Hollywood acting roles all the way through 2022.

According to Babylon director Damien Chazelle: “Margot’s able to tap into this wildness and this bravado where you don’t know what’s going to come, and it keeps surprising you.”

In light of this, Margot brought a flurry of different roles to viewers this year including the announcement of her upcoming Barbie movie alongside Ryan Gosling and the murder mystery comedy Amsterdam with a stellar cast of Christian Bale and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Adding to her year’s credits, Margot also reprised her role as Donna in Neighbours as the cast reunited for one final show. This could be seen as a full circle moment for the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star as Donna Freedman was the first role she ever undertook.

Therefore, Margot seemingly wrapped up her busy 2022 much like she started her career in 2008 - with her mother as her neighbour at premieres and jumping into the role of her acting debut character on Neighbours.
