Rebel Wilson welcomes first 'miracle' daughter via surrogate after losing weight in the hopes of pregnancy

Rebel Wilson has welcomed a Wil-daughter as she celebrated her first baby via surrogate.

The Pitch Perfect star, 42, announced her happy news on Instagram to her 11.3 million followers revealing the name of her first-born to be Royce Lillian.

Rebel told the world about her “beautiful miracle” while sharing the first image of her daughter wearing unicorn socks and a onesie.

She said: “Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate. I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle.

“I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved (you know who you are), this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.”

Rebel continued to thank her surrogate for helping her start a family and stated Royce’s birth as “the BEST gift.”

The Australian actress added: “I am ready to give little Roycie all the love imaginable. I am learning quickly…much respect to all the Mums out there! Proud to be part in your club.”

Rebel, who confessed the road to pregnancy has been “years in the making”, had previously opened up about her weight loss journey citing that she had hoped to lose weight to help fertility.

The Pooch Perfect host lost 77 pounds (35kg) within a year after her doctor informed her that her chances of getting pregnant would be increased if she became healthier.

She told Australian morning show Sunrise in 2021: “That’s kind of what started it, that if I lost some excess weight that it would give me a better chance for freezing eggs and having the eggs be a better quality.

“It wasn’t really even myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really.”
