Rumer Willis welcomes baby girl with partner Derek Richard Thomas - but who is he?

Actress Rumer Willis and her boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas have welcomed a beautiful baby girl together. Louetta Isley Thomas Willis is the couple's first child and the first grandchild to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. 

The eldest of Bruce and Demi’s - the exes also share Tallulah and Scout - daughters shared a cute snap of the new-born on Instagram with the caption: “Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. You are pure magic Born at home on Tuesday, April 18th. You are more than we ever dreamed of.”

Proud Grandma Demi commented on the picture and wrote: “Pure love for this little birdie. Stepmom Emma Heming Willis added: “Omg we love her so so much.” New daddy Derek also shared the same image to his social media account.

Previously when Rumer was a guest host on the The Talk show she joked that her father was hoping for a baby boy. She said “Even my dad puts pressure on me. Over quarantine, he was like, 

'So I'd like for you to have a son because I need some male energy in this group.' It's a lot of women, obviously. He has five daughters and my mom and my step-mom. There's just a lot of female energy.” 

We are sure the Die Hard actor will be over the moon with his granddaughter after he shared a picture of her on his Instagram stories. 

It’s not clear when exactly the new parents got together but they both gushed about each other on socials since May 2022. The couple made their relationship Instagram official in August and announced in December 2022 that they were expecting their first child together. 

Who is Derek Richard Thomas? 

Derek is a singer/songwriter who also goes by his initials DRT. He was the lead vocalist for Rock n Roll band the Vista Kicks. The group released four albums together but in February 2023 Derek announced that the band would be taking a break. 

In a social media post he explained “I will continue to make music as @derekrichardthomas, produce artists on @inthedrtrecords, but most importantly I am becoming a father!!"

The musician is also a music producer with his own record label In The DRT Records. Derek’s first project was producing music for the band The Hail Maries. 

Rumer has also performed with her boyfriend. In May 2022, she joined him and The Hail Maries on stage and sang his song, "How Many Years." 

He clearly gets on with his in-laws. Bruce’s wife Emma shared a sweet clip of Derek playing the guitar with father-in-law Bruce playing the harmonica.
