The SAG Awards for 2023 will take place in the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on Sunday 26 February

Each year more than 112,000 performers who make up the diverse membership of SAG will vote for their favourites across film and TV. This makes the SAG Awards the largest voting body on the awards circuit and, for that reason, perhaps the most coveted.

Cue the biggest and most beloved names of the screen, big or small, and this year it continues the successful roll that many are on from the Golden Globes and BAFTA film awards - including Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Fraser, Jennifer Collidge, Austin Butler and Cate Blanchett.

By this point, many of the favourites must have sore faces from all the red carpet and award ceremony face grins. Looking happy and in no-way disappointed with the results is the most important thing.

This hasn't been an issue for Cate Blanchett as she won the Golden Globe in January for best actress for her role as tyrannical conductor, Lydia Tár, in a film called Tár - directed by Todd Field. Blanchett also won a BAFTA last weekend for the same role. And now she is nominated for a SAG. She is also nominated for an Oscar next month.

Since the first SAG Awards ceremony in 1995, 20 lead actresses have won the corresponding Oscar while 23 leading male actors have done the same.

Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Banshees of Inisherin lead the nominees in the film categories this year while those vying for glory in the TV categories are more varied.
