Jenna Ortega is cementing her place as a ‘Scream Queen’ this year. She features in the upcoming horror sequel, ‘Scream 6’.

The 20-year-old actress has thrilled audiences throughout 2022 with her performances in horror movies such as ‘X’ and ‘Scream 5’, and even clinched the MTV award for 'Most Frightened Performance' for the latter film. Now, she is set to continue her work in the genre as the first trailer for Scream 6 is released.

Slasher movie Scream VI is set to premiere on March 10 2023 with the return of Ghostface, and has a stellar cast alongside Jenna Ortega including Courtney Cox and Samara Weaving.

According to the synopsis, Jenna and three other survivors from Ghostface’s previous killing spree move to New York for a new start, but are faced with the return of the deadly antagonist.

The teaser trailer dropped on Wednesday which is fast becoming Jenna Ortega’s fans favourite day of the week following her recent starring role in comedy horror Netflix show ‘Wednesday’.

The namesake part drew Jenna critical acclaim from top movie sites as well as the hashtag Jenna Ortega garnering 12.8 billion views on TikTok following its release.

Wednesday is not the first Netflix credit to Jenna’s name however, as the American actress starred in season three of psychological thriller series ‘You’ with Penn Badgley. Once more adding another thriller picture to her name, Jenna played ‘Joe’s’ young friend Ellie Alves.

What may surprise fans is that Jenna started out as a Disney Channel star and even had a surprise appearance in Iron Man 3, thus proving Jenna’s acting range.

Despite Jenna’s convincing performances in what seems to be her favoured genre, the young starlet has previously revealed that she has been scared by horror movies in the past.

She spoke about the horrifying film, which just so happened to be the first ever thriller she watched, saying: “I think the first scary movie I watched, or at least saw part of before I ran away in fear was Child’s Play.

“I screamed in terror because I knew [Chucky the doll] was this murderous doll, and then every year I would have a nightmare…until I was 15.”
