The Bad Guys: release date of Dreamworks movie, trailer, and who is in the cast with Sam Rockwell?

The Bad Guys is the latest release from animation studio Dreamworks.

The film sees a group of reformed criminal animals attempt to become good guys with chaotic results along the way.

But what’s the full synopsis, is there a trailer, and when is it out?

What is The Bad Guys about?

The Bad Guys is based on the New York Times best-selling book series of the same name by Aaron Blabey.

The criminal crew are about to take on their biggest challenge yet as they try to become model citizens.

After years of countless heists, the gang have become the world’s most wanted villains.

When they are finally caught, Mr Wolf (Sam Rockwell) reaches a deal to save them all from prison.

The Bad Guys set out to fool the world that they have actually been transformed from their previous ways.

Under the guidance of their mentor Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade), Mr Wolf realises that being good might give him what he’s always wanted: acceptance.

When a new villain threatens the city, will Mr Wolf convince The Bad Guys to become The Good Guys?

When is The Bad Guys out in cinemas?

The Bad Guys is being released on Friday 1 April 2022.

The film will be available to watch at the cinema and there is no confirmed date for a streaming release for the film.

Who is in The Bad Guys cast?

The Bad Guys cast is led by Academy Award winner Sam Rockwell who voices Mr Wolf.

Rockwell won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in 2018 for his role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

He has also starred in Moon, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Seven Psychopaths.

Mentoring guinea pig Professor Marmalade is voiced by British actor Richard Ayoade.

Ayoade has previously played the role of Moss in The I.T. Crowd, as well as presenting The Crystal Maze and Travel Man on Channel 4.

Joining the gang of criminals is Snake, voiced by comedian Marc Maron.

Maron has starred in Netflix’s Glow, Joker and TV series Maron, based on his own life.

American actress and rapper Awkwafina joins the cast as the voice of Tarantula. 

Awkwafina has acting credits in Ocean’s Eight, Crazy Rich Asians and is also set to play Scuttle in the 2023 release of The Little Mermaid.

Bad Guy Shark is voiced by actor and musician Craig Robinson.

Robinson played Daryl in The Office, Doug Judy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and has also starred in Hot Tub Time Machine.

The final member of the villainous group is Piranha played by Anthony Ramos.

Ramos starred in A Star is Born, as well as the stage production Hamilton on Disney+.

The actor is most recognised for his role in the musical movie In the Heights.
