Timothée Chalamet will takeover from the late Gaspard Ulliel as Chanel announces new fragrance Ambassador

Timothée Chalamet is on fire right now. The 27 year-old actor has just wrapped up two major movies due for release later this year [Dune: Part Two with co-star Zendaya and Wonka] and is about to start filming the much anticipated Bob Dylan Biopic. 

As well as rumoured to be dating the youngest Kardashian/Jenner sister Kylie Jenner and has now been named as the new fragrance ambassador for Chanel Bleau. Phew it seems everything he touches turns to gold.

This comes after Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp signed a contract with Dior to continue being the face of the fragrance in a $20 million deal.

Luxury brand Chanel announced on Instagram “CHANEL is pleased to announce that Timothée Chalamet will serve as the fragrance ambassador for BLEU DE CHANEL. A fragrance for the man who is deeply himself.”

In a second post Chanel wrote “For the new BLEU DE CHANEL campaign, Timothée Chalamet embodies the man who is deeply himself. Willing to dive into the unknown in pursuit of a vision that takes him to new heights. BLEU DE CHANEL is the essence of that vision, the colour that knows no bounds.

Speaking to Dazed the actor described his experience with a fragrance that has stayed with him, he said “our mom took us to a perfumery in Grasse. I loved the experience, and I got a cedarwood-scented room spray to bring back to my bedroom. I accidentally sprayed it on my clothes, and the smell was overwhelming. Yet I remember very vividly feeling at the time that it was a creative expression to curate the scent of my room.”

The ‘Ladybird’ actor will be following in the footsteps of everyone’s favourite heart throb Brad Pitt. In 2012 Brad became the first male ambassador for the iconic ‘Chanel No 5’ fragrance with a very sexy black and white advertisement. 

French actor and model Gaspard Ulliel held was the first ever male ambassador for the brand and was the face of Bleu de Chanel. Gaspard held the title for over 12 years and his last campaign was in 2020 but his tragic death in a skiing accident in 2022. 

Timothée will be added to a list of famous faces to join the Chanel Fragrance ambassador role including Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightly and Lily-Rose Depp to name a few.
