The birthday girl from London known for her appearances in Westworld, Mission Impossible 2, God’s Country and Solo: A Star Wars Story has been in the acting game for over three decades.

According to IMDB, Thandiwe has got 49 credits to her name ranging from narrating a Bill Cosby documentary to starring in Jay-Z and Beyonce’s Family Feud music video.

Who is Thandiwe Newton?

Thandiwe Newton (pronounced Tan-dee) is an English actress who was born in Westminster, London to mother Nyasha Jombe, a Zimbabwean and Shona princess, and father Nick Newton, an English lab technician and artist.

While Thandiwe was born in London, her family moved to Zambia shortly after where Thandie’s younger brother and fellow actor Jamie was born.

At the age of three, the Newton family returned to London to raise their children. Thandie grew up splitting her time between the capital and Penzance in Cornwall, before attending Tring Park School for Performing Arts where she studied dance.

Many can agree that Thandie is known for her beauty, but the actress also has brains after graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in social anthropology.

Thandiwe Newton first met Ol Parker in 1997 when she starred in another of his scripted movies, In Your Dreams, to which it was love at first sight.

A year later, the pair tied the knot before welcoming three children - 21-year-old Ripley, 17-year-old Rico and Booker, 8, over the course of their 24-year-marriage.

While the couple looked solid for the duration of their marriage, rumours began to circulate about Thandiwe and Ol as the former actress was replaced in Magic Mike 3 by Salma Hayek due to personal issues in April 2022.

It came to light that Ol and Thandiwe had separated, with the split confirmed as Thandiwe was seen kissing new boyfriend musician Lonr, 25, in Los Angeles earlier this year.
