What’s next for Joe Alwyn amid Taylor Swift split? Will dating the singer propel or hinder his career

After six years together Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift have called time on their relationship. It comes after a source told People that the reason for the split was that they “weren't the right fit for one another.”

So what’s next for Joe and his career? The actor has carved a successful career with roles in TV series Conversations with Friends and the film The Favourite as well as many more. But many people had never heard of the actor until he started dating the singer. 

Joe has three upcoming movies and a role in a TV mini-series due out over the next few years and has become a relatively well-known name in the industry. It would seem that dating the Grammy Award-winning singer has done wonders for his career so far. 

So what does dating Taylor Swift do for someone's career? Well as for some of them like Joe Jonas, Harry Styles and Calvin Harris it made no difference whatsoever. These guys were already on track for superstardom with or without dating the songstress. 

Taylor Lautner the actor is best known for his role as Jacob in the Twilight saga. Taylor and Taylor both featured in a small part of the film Valentine’s Day when they were dating and their relationship ended after several months. Since the split Taylor Lautner has had some small roles in film and TV but not as successful as his Twilight role. 

John Mayor only dated the singer for a few months his career took a nosedive when she released the track Dear John. The song about Mayor included the lyrics: “Dear John, I see it all, now it was wrong, Don't you think nineteen is too young, To be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?” In an interview with Rolling Stone at the time John described how he had felt humiliated and at a time he was at his “lowest [Taylor] kicked him even lower.”

Tom Hiddleston was even rumoured to have missed out on the James Bond role because of his relationship with Taylor. A brief relationship yes but a memorable one for sure. Images of Tom splashing in the sea with a ‘I Heart TS’ top on will never leave our minds. It was this public display that reportedly led James Bond directors to believe he wasn’t right for the part. 

Connor Kennedy dated Taylor for a few months in 2012 after being photographed together. The pair split amicably and it was due to distance between them. A few years later the grandson of Bobby Kennedy ended up being arrested for being in a bar fight and more recently he has been fighting as a soldier in the war in Ukraine.
