Following Daniel Craig’s announcement that ‘No Time To Die’ would be his final appearance as James Bond, there has been endless speculation over his successor. Aaron Taylor-Johnson has now entered the race of favourites to play the next iteration of 007.

For a long time, Idris Elba has been the firm favourite to take on the role, however, it’s been reported that he is not interested in the role. The producers of the movie, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, said they understood why, saying: “We love Idris. The thing is, it’s going to be a couple of years off. And when we cast Bond it’s a 10-12 year commitment."

Taylor-Johnson, whose odds on landing the role have now shortened to 2-1, is no stranger to action movies having risen to fame after starring in the 2013 Marvel action comedy Kick-Ass and has proven many times since that he has what it takes to be a leading action man as he starred in the 2022 film, Bullet Train.

Reports sugggest he smashed his secret audition after throwing his name into the ring for the iconic role. However, Henry Cavil remains the front-runner to replace Craig and is as little as evens with the bookies.

Cavil recently replaced long-time favourites, Rege-Jean Page, for the top spot after announcing he was stepping down as Geralt in the hit Netflix series The Witcher. The news surprised fans as Cavil has never shied away from expressing his love for the show and its original source material.

So, who is the most likely to play the next James Bond?
