Glastonbury will return with a stunning line up in 2022, following the 25th anniversary of the sell-out festival being called off in 2021.

Organisers of the famous festival have hinted that next year’s line up could be Glastonbury’s greatest ever.

So, who has been confirmed to headline the festival next year and where can you buy tickets? This is what you need to know.

Who will headline Glastonbury 2022?

While the line-up is yet to be confirmed and no schedule has been released, there has now been confirmation that Billie Eilish will headline.

The 20-year-old has been confirmed, following rumours and her teasing Instagram shot of her in a Glastonbury hoodie, which she simply captioned “2022”.

The Bury A Friend singer will be the youngest ever solo performer to headline, as well as the first female to headline since 2016.

Also confirmed for the first show since the Covid pandemic cancelled 2020 and 2021, Diana Ross will be making her Glastonbury debut.

She’ll belt out her iconic hits like Baby Love and Upside Down on the Pyramid Stage on 26 June, playing the Sunday evening ‘legends’ sot.

The same slot was taken by Dolly Parton in 2014, which attracted Glastonbury’s biggest-ever audience.

Some of the best known names in the industry have also been rumoured, including Elton John and Taylor Swift.

Elton John will complete his last ever live music tour in 2022 and the weekend of Glastonbury has not been booked out for any other venue. Could this be a tell-tale sign?

Beatles legend Paul McCartney and DJ Fatboy Slim are also expected to fulfil their 2020 contract in 2022.

Aerosmith clearly don’t want to miss a thing either, as the American rockers appeared to confirm they will be performing. On a schedule of their 2022 tour posted on the band’s official website Glastonbury was named.

Other big names who were supposed to perform in 2020 and are considered very likely to hit the stage in 2022 are Diana Ross, The Petshop Boys and Kendrick Lamar.

When is Glastonbury 2022?

Glastonbury 2022 is expected to go ahead between Friday, June 24 and Sunday, June 26.

The option to camp will be available and one-day tickets will also go on sale, preferred by those who are going to see a specific act and those who don’t want to camp.

Given that the UK government is set to introduce Covid passports to prevent those without two vaccines entering outdoor events above 50,000, there could be issues for any festival revellers who are not vaccinated by June 2022.

When do Glastonbury 2022 tickets go on sale?

General admission full weekend tickets for the 2022 Festival are sold out, having rolled over deposits paid for the 2020 Festival for a second year, following the cancellation of the 2021 Festival.

Weekend festival tickets have not yet gone on sale for 2022, the official Glastonbury website states they should go on sale in late 2021 or early 2022.
