Is a prior relationship between Travis Scott and Rihanna the reason for A$AP Rocky’s alleged diss track?

Could a verse from an as-yet-unreleased A$AP Rocky track be the nucleus for a feud between himself and another hip-hop superstar, Travis Scott? That’s what fans believe after watching part of a performance Rocky have at the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami last weekend, as the rapper performed a number of songs from his forthcoming album, “Don’t Be Dumb.”

Headlining the event, footage has been making the rounds on social media regarding one particular verse from a song that may-or-may-not make it onto the new album, with Rocky rapping “First you stole my flow, so I stole your b***h / Then you stole my style, I need at least like 10 per cent / All due disrespect, I hope you take offence.”

That’s prompted fans of both rappers to believe that there is beef between the two, particularly regarding Rocky’s relationship with Rihanna, with the pair welcoming RZA into the world in May 2022 and a second child on the way. Rihanna previously was in a relationship with Travis Scott, before the “Astroworld” performer found himself in the arms of Kylie Jenner and the subsequent acrimony afterwards.

Rihanna and Travis Scott were romantically linked in late 2015 and were seen together on multiple outings; the two were spotted at a tattoo parlour, a fashion week afterparty, a soccer match in France, and nights out in Los Angeles. At the time, a source told People, 'Once Travis finished his set, they were inseparable and all over each other.'

They have also collaborated on music - the Texas native co-produced Rihanna's single “B***h Better Have My Money”, as well as the song “Woo” from her 2016 album “Anti”. That October, Rihanna joined Scott during his set at hot spot 1 OAK, while Scott also opened for Rihanna during a portion of her “Anti” tour beginning in February 2016.

Though the two have never discussed their relationship, and went on to date other partners long-term, it would seem that Rocky does have somewhat of an issue with their history, and with the perceived notion that Scott has “stolen” the style of rapping Rocky has become renowned for.
