The Sun reported Adele responding: “After Vegas I really want to get a degree in English literature. If I hadn’t made it in my singing, I think I would definitely be a teacher. I think I’d be an English lit teacher.
“I wish I had gone to university, I wish I had that experience…I won’t go to university, I’ll do [my degree] online and with a tutor, but that’s my plan for 2025. It’s just to get the qualifications.”

Hide AdFans of Adele will know of her passion for English after the singer expressed her love and gratitude for her former English teacher Ms McDonald when performing earlier this year in An Audience With Adele.
The singer spoke about her teacher from Chestnut Grove school when actress Emma Thompson questioned her on who “inspired” and “supported” her in the past.
Adele explained to the crowd at the London Palladium: “I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove, who taught me English. That was Ms McDonald…She really got me into English Literature. Like, I have always been obsessed with English and obviously I now write lyrics.
“She really made us care, and we knew that she cared about us.”
As Adele finalised her answer, Emma Thompson surprised the Grammy-Award winning singer by reuniting her with Ms McDonald, who she had not seen for 20 years.
