Billie Eilish has called out fans on social media that have been giving her a hard time over her changing style. The ‘Bad Guy’ singer responded to comments on Instagram that have branded her a ‘sell-out’ now that she is opting for a more feminine look.

In a post shared on her Instagram stories Billie shared a close up image of her face with the text "I spent the first five years of my career getting absolutely OBLITERATED by you fools for being boyish and dressing how I did & constantly being told I'd be hotter if I acted like a woman,"

“Now when I feel comfortable enough to wear anything remotely feminine or fitting, I CHANGED and am a sellout. You guys are true idiots.”

The singer who has over 109 million followers on Instagram ended the post with “Let Women exist.”

Billie first became a household name in 2019 with her single ‘Bad Guy’ from her first studio album ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ Her style was very grunge and EMO, it was all about oversized t-shirts, baggy trousers and green coloured hair.

The first major shift in her style evolution was when Billie bleached her hair blonde for the cover of her album ‘Happier Than Ever. In an interview with Elle she explained how she lost over ‘100,000 followers’ after changing her look.

She also revealed that she dyed her trademark neon green and black hair blonde so that she would be able to blend in more when out in public.

Billie has since gone back to a dark hair colour and still likes to wear her baggy and oversized outfits, but at 21 she is now embracing her feminine side. At the Met Gala, Billie wore a figure hugging black lace dress by Simone Rocha. Sadly her fans just don’t seem to like it when she switches up her style from tomboy to girly girl.

The American singer started her music career at the age of 13 and has faced comments on her style and weight over the years. In the past Billie has responded to body-shaming comments when people have previously called her ‘fat’. She revealed to Vanity Fair that she used to starve herself due to a horrible relationship with her body.
