Like her music or not, it’s hard not to like Canadian songstress Celine Dion as a person; this was quite clearly evidenced after the wider public paid tributes to the 55-year-old after she publicly revealed she was living with Stiff Person Syndrome.  The rare neurological disorder is characterised by muscle stiffness and spasms, which can lead to difficulty with movement and posture - posture being a very important part of singing, allowing the lungs to open up and deliver those bellowing harmonies Celine impressively has delivered across her career.

But it looks like Dion is now learning how to live with the disorder, as the performer has released her first single since making her announcement on social media in December 2022. “Love Again” is one of five songs that the diva has recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming Priyanka Chopra Jonas film, also called Love Again. Not content with providing some of the music to the film, Dion will actually appear in the film as herself - as the synopsis reads: “Mira Ray, who is struggling to cope with the death of her fiancé, unintentionally sends a sequence of romantic messages to his old cell phone number, which has been reassigned to Rob Burns' new work phone.”

“As a journalist, Rob is drawn to the candidness in Mira's beautifully written texts. When he is tasked with writing a feature about the famous singer Celine Dion, he seeks her assistance in finding a way to meet Mira in real life and ultimately win her affection.”

"I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with the beautiful and talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that I will cherish forever," Dion said in a statement, while Chopra Jonas gushed over the fact she got to share the screen with the singer on her most recent appearance on BBC’s The One Show.

“Love Again” marks the first release of new music from Celine Dion since 2019’s “Courage,” and expect the film, released in the United States on May 5 2023, to be exactly what Chopra Jonas called it during her aforementioned appearance on BBC One; “a love letter to her [Celine Dion].” Alongside five new songs, the film - starring Scottish actor Sam Heughan - the soundtrack is said to be very Celine-heavy, whipping through some of her greatest hits. Here’s hoping for another bout of chart success if “My Heart Will Go On” makes it into the film.
