Christmas number one latest odds: Huge update as Kylie Minogue surges ahead ahead of Wham! in betting odds
Kylie Minogue has surged ahead in the betting odds to claim this year’s Christmas number one.
The Aussie singer is currently favourite to top the Christmas charts with her new festive hit XMAS. She has been on the promotion circuit for the Christmas hit, including performing the song on Strictly Come Dancing over the weekend.
The Official Charts Company confirmed at the start of the week that Kylie had edged ahead in the race to Christmas number one by around 7,000 units. Her festive-themed single is an Amazon Music-exclusive single, meaning that listeners can only stream the song on the Amazon Music platform.
Is Kylie hold onto her lead come Friday, December 19, she will not only grab her very first Christmas number one but it will also be her first UK number one in 22 years. She last topped the charts with her 2003 single Slow.
However, with sales and streams still counting towards the Christmas number one race until the end of day on Thursday, there are still other contenders in the race for Christmas number one.
80s legends Wham! are hoping to hold onto the festive top-spot for the third consecutive year with their classic hit Last Christmas. Released in 1984, the song only eventually became Christmas number one in 2023 and became the first song to hold the chart spot for two years running after claiming the 2024 crown.
There is also competition from Together For Palestine, a collective of artists including Leigh-Anne, Brian Eno, Celeste, and Mabel among many others. ‘Lullaby’ is raising funds for three Palestinian-led organisations including Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service amid the war in Gaza.

This will be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 from 3pm on Friday, December 19. The results will be published on the Official Charts website from 5.45pm.
All streams and sales up until 11.59pm on Thursday, December 18 will counts towards chart totals.
