Chains are usually said to represent eternal love, and human connection – the eternity of circles without beginning or end, linked to other circles in a fortified way. This Valentine's Day we look at the biggest chain spenders and why they're proving an eternal love for the shiniest objects of all.

There's a great deal of thought in accessories and how people dress up or down an outfit based on the bling factor. Status sharing is the name of the game and the bigger the price tag the better. No other musician does it quite like Drake.

The Canadian rapper revealed last Friday (10 February) during an interview with popular TikTok influencer, Chris Smoove. In a 'How Much Does Your Fit Cost' segment, Drake gave a breakdown of his clothes which many of his 'cheaper' items being a shocking revelation before the biggest reveal of all.

Smoove started from the top as he asked the four-time Grammy Award winner how much his glasses cost. Drake replied: "The glasses are Thom Browne. I don't really know how much they are. I lost them like 10 times."

The earrings he was wearing were known in price, which he said were "like $600 each". That's already more than $1,000 already spent, and then Smoove moved the attention towards Drake's expensive-looking chain.

"I see that chain," Smoove said. Drake replied: "You should probably save that for last," before an excited sound came from the small group of bystanders in the background.

Drake, who is also known as Champagne Papi, lived up to his nickname when he revealed the value of his chain.

"Honestly. I'm embarrassed to say it but probably nine or... Over 10 m's for sure."

Casually admitting that he spent over $10 million on a chain, fans soon flocked to the comments section on the TikTok video, which collated over 7.1 million views and more than 1.2 million likes.

He's not the only hip hop artist to use incredibly expensive chains as a piece of his image armoury. We take a look at the biggest spenders.

Billed as the 'Hot Girl Necklace', it was worn by the American rapper Megan Thee Stallion and cost an ice cold $425,000.

The necklace was debuted on Megan Thee Stalion’s Instagram page after she was shot in both of her feet. She posed in lingerie, sporting white hair, a diamond Audemars Piguet watch, choker, and this Elliot Eliantte pendant necklace covered in baguette-cut diamonds, spelling the words 'Hot Girl' in the ice.

A Los Angeles jury found Tory Lanez guilty in December 2022 of three felonies in the 2020 shooting of the artist.

The attack left her wounded with bullet fragments in her feet and Lanez' conviction could send him to prison for more than 20 years. Megan still has fragments of the bullets in her feet.

The 'Solar System' chain is by far the most intricate detailed of the chains and with an galactic theme that pushes the price tag to an out of this world sum.

Worn by the rapper Takeoff, who sadly died from gunshot wounds in 2022, the huge chain has orbs hanging from it that symbolise planets, with a huge diamond-encrusted medallion hanging from a diamond sun.

The chain in total weighs about 2.2 pounds and contains 200 carats of diamonds. Takeoff paid $500,000 for the Solar System Chain.

Rick Ross

The most expensive rapper chain is the Face Pendant worn by Rick Ross. The rapper’s signature style, complete with sunglasses, was crafted into a gold chain of his face. This sparkling replica of the famous rapper is worth $1.5 million, making it the most expensive rapper chain in the world.

Ross is frequently seen wearing expensive jewellery, including diamond watches and gold bracelets. To capitalise on his penchant for luxury, he owns several extremely expensive chains.
