How do Ellie Goulding and Zac Goldsmith know each other as they lean on one another for support?

Ellie Goulding has formed an unlikely relationship with Zac Goldsmith after reports that she and husband Caspar Joplin have been living separate lives. 

Daily Mail reported that Ellie, 36, and art dealer husband Caspar,31, have been living separate lives for the past six months and her team has been trying to keep it quiet for the sake of their two year-old son Arthur. 

The couple married in a lavish ceremony with celebrity guests including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, James Blunt, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. But just four years after tying the knot, sources claim the couple have been spending time apart and blame their hectic work schedules as the reason why their marriage has suffered. 

The pair were spotted together at the Serpentine Summer Ball but the singer was not wearing her wedding or engagement ring.

According to sources close to the singer Ellie has formed an unlikely relationship with Zac Goldsmith. 

Zac, 48, who recently quit as the environment minister and Ellie have bonded over their mutual love of conservatism. The pair were recently spotted out dining together and have become close friends over the past year. 

The former minister is Eton educated and the son of late billionaire financier Sir James Goldsmith. He is also going through a marriage split himself after separating from his second wife Alice Rothschild, who is mother to their three children. 

Zac reportedly met the popstar at the UN Climate Change Conference COP26, Glasgow in November 2021 and have stayed in touch since. 

A source told The Sun “Zac’s pals say he is supportive of Ellie and will be a willing listener and shoulder to lean on.”

“Their friendship is not a secret as they have been pictured together over the last year.” They added “They are close friends but there is no romance involved."
