Foo Fighters are busy once again in the lead up to their new album by dropping the second single from their first release since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins. “Under You” follows on from last month’s release of “Rescued” and comes from their forthcoming album "But Here We Are” - scheduled for release on June 2 2023.

Dave Grohl being Dave Grohl of course isn’t content resting in the recording studio, and for a band that pride themselves on long tours across arenas and festival around the world, he’ll be pleased with the announcement that the band will be performing at the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, set to take place on Sunday November 26 2023. But for those who simply cannot wait for their fix of live Foo - then the band have catered to your impatience.

Alongside the release of “Under You” came the news that the band will be live streaming one of their practices at their Studio 606 in Los Angeles, California. Foo Fighters: Preparing Music For Concerts, will take place on May 21 at 8pm BST / 3pm EST / 12pm PST.  The stream will feature a live performance featuring the live debuts of songs from the album, as well as behind-the-scenes footage, and “a few surprises,” according to a press release.

But in the sad absence of Taylor Hawkins, who is drumming for Foo Fighters currently, both on the new record and also during their live performances?

Who could drum for Foo Fighters?

Would you believe us if we told you that the band boasts three drummers? We understand that the recording of the new Foo Fighters album saw Dave Grohl return behind the drum kit, the first time he’s taken up the role since 1997’s “The Colour and The Shape” for the band.

However, both Matt Cameron and Atom Williard have been two names constantly banded around as potential drummers for the group. Cameron is thought to be assuming live duties at the moment while Willard rehabilitates an arm injury he recently had surgery on, and is set to take over the position from Cameron when he is ready to perform.

Old-school grunge fans will be familiar with Matt Cameron; the drummer was a member of pivotal Seattle group Soundgarden before recently becoming the full time drummer for another big ‘90s grunge act, Pearl Jam. Punk fans may be familiar also with Atom Willard, who was seen behind the kit for Against Me in 2013, appearing on the last three albums from the group alongside Laura Jane Grace’s solo record, “Bought To Rot”.
