Stray Kids’ Hyunjin and PinkPantheress set to collaborate with Troye Sivan with ‘Rush’ remix this month

It looks like Troye Sivan’s time on HBO’s now-cancelled series ‘The Idol’ and sharing screen time with BLACKPINK’s Jennie might have informed singer Troye Sivan’s next collaboration. At least, that’s what the optimists here at PeopleWorld think is the case from what is quite possibly 2023’s biggest television disaster.

But taking to TikTok overnight, Sivan shared part of a remix of his previous track "Rush" featuring Sivan, PinkPantheress and Stray Kids’ idol Hyunjin. As reported by Soompi, the genesis of the collaboration traces back to a moment of serendipity earlier this year. At Versace's "La Vacanza" 2023 fashion show in Cannes, Sivan and Hyunjin found themselves seated next to each other.

The encounter sparked a growing interest and mutual admiration between the two artists. In the aftermath of the event, Sivan expressed his fascination with Hyunjin, even re-sharing a fan edit on TikTok and playfully asking, "Anyone know how to reach this man?" This online exchange initiated a wave of speculation and anticipation among fans.

While Sivan humorously mentioned, "That’s the last time I [publicly] crush on a K-pop star, I almost got murdered," his desire to collaborate with Hyunjin remained unwavering. The wish that he shared publicly is now coming true as the remix project materializes.

Sivan cleverly hinted at the upcoming collaboration a day before the official announcement, posting twin TikToks featuring Hyunjin and PinkPantheress along with matching captions that revealed his aspiration to collaborate with both artists.

When is the collaboration between Troye Sivan and Hyunjin released?

Troye Sivan’s remix of “Rush” featuring Stray Kids’ Hyunjin and PinkPantheress is scheduled for release on August 31 2023 at 1pm KST (4am BST)
