The Rated Awards were founded by music outlet GRM Daily, which has chronicled the UK rap and grime scene for more than a decade.

The awards are now in their seventh year, and this year’s event promises to be extra special as they will be the first live awards since the coronavirus pandemic.

Rapper Dave is leading the way at this year’s awards, with six nominations. The 24-year-old is up for male artist of the year. He’s also nominated for track of the year twice, along with two nods for video of the year.

Other artists with multiple nominations include Aitch, ArrDee, Cleo Sol, K-Trap, Knucks, Little Simz, M Huncho, and Tion Wayne.

GRM founder Post said: “I’m proud to be returning with our seventh Rated Awards and bringing an even more incredible show to screens this year.”

What are the GRM Rated Awards?

The GRM Rated Awards are fan-voted awards, set up by urban music platform GRM Daily, which celebrate rap and grime music.

This year’s nominations recognise achievements artists have made between 1 June 2021, and 1 July 1 2022.

There are 10 categories, with 10 nominees in each category except for album of the year, where there are just eight nominees.

When will the awards ceremony be held?

The awards ceremony will take place in October at a location in central London which is yet to be announced.

The hosts and performances for the ceremony, which will be held in person this year for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, are also yet to be announced.

How can I watch the awards ceremony?

The awards ceremony will be shown on E4 for the first time this year.
