Jennifer Lopez released her third studio album ‘This Is Me… Then’ 20 years ago.

The album largely centred on her relationship with Ben Affleck at the time, who she was also engaged to, and it seems things have now come full circle for the ever-young 53-year-old.

After a recoupling, the pair officially tied the knot in a Las Vegas wedding back in July.

Adding to this, it seems J-Lo’s rekindled love-life is fueling her creative process for new music as the singer is officially returning with a new album next year.

‘This is Me… Now’ is set to be a successor to that album - which J-Lo marked with a re-release on its 20th anniversary on November 20.

The singer announced the new album on Instagram with a clip of herself morphing from the original cover two decades ago, to the women she will be on her upcoming project.

But fans may be wanting to know more about how the album links to the person J-Lo once was, and all that has changed since.

A statement released to announce the new project reads: “Heralding a new era of music for Jennifer Lopez, ‘This Is Me…Now’ chronicles the emotional, spiritual and psychological journey that she has taken over the past two decades.

“An emotionally raw and honest project, unlike any she has produced before, she writes and sings about her life and experiences that will resonate with us all.

“In addition, these autobiographical stories informed by the album will result in other very personal projects that will be released next year…more to come on that.”

So it seems J-Lo is keeping things pretty close to the chest at this stage, with only small details revealed on how she will mark her ‘spiritual and psychological journey.’

But one thing we can say for sure from the tracklist is that songs about her lover Ben Affleck are sure to feature once again.

Three songs on the upcoming album are titled “Dear Ben Part II,” “Mad in Love,” and “Midnight Trip to Vegas.” All are undoubtedly nods to her marriage to Affleck earlier this year, and could even touch on how the relationship between the pair while they were apart.

'Dear Ben' on the orginal album - largely seen as the album's centrepiece - was a proclamamtion of her love for Ben Affleck and contains lyrics where she describes her perfect man.

In a recent interview with Vogue, J-Lo spoke about wanting to be vocal on her love-life.

People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, the men I was with—but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong,” she said.

“There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I feel like I’m at a place in my life, finally, where I have something to say about it.”

While there is no official release date yet, reports suggest ‘This Is Me… Now’ is set to land on streaming platforms some time during summer 2023.
