May 2023 brings much excitement for the UK with King Charles III’s coronation, the Eurovision song contest and now BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival taking place.

The music festival will return to Camperdown Park in Dundee at the end of May after it was supposed to head to the Scottish city in 2020 before it was impacted by Covid-19 and promptly cancelled.

While Harry Styles and Dua Lipa were supposed to headline three years ago, Greg James has started to reveal his leading performers for this year’s festival including some big British names.

With more than 80,000 fans expected to attend the event on the bank holiday weekend from 26 - 28 May, Saturday’s line up has been revealed, ahead of Sunday’s headliners being announced later this week; PeopleWorld takes a look.

‘What A Man Gotta Do’ to see the Jonas Brothers on the main stage at Camperdown Park?

The American trio will open up on Saturday evening before Matt Healy’s The 1975 closes out the show.

Joining the men in Dundee are leading ladies Jess Glynne and Mimi Webb with the latter having previously worked with the BBC for Children in Need last year.

DJ Joel Corry, Tom Grennan, Thirty Seconds of Mars and British rapper Arrdee complete Saturday’s line-up on the main stage while Rudimental headlines the Future Sounds stage.
