Kim Petras makes history again at awards while Travis Scott is involved in alleged nightclub assault

Without question, Kim Petras is deserved of top spot on PeopleWorld’s hot list today. I was incredibly moved by her empowering speech at the Billboard Women in Music 2023 Awards. When Kim accepted the Chartbreaker Award, she said that “growing up I would question what rooms I would be put into and what boxes I would be put into-and I’m grateful it’s this one.”

As Benjamin Jackson says in his article on the pop star, “Kim Petras breaks down yet another wall for transgender musicians in the music industry.” I couldn’t agree more with his words!

From Kim Petras to Jimmy Kimmel. Jimmy is set to host the Academy Awards for the third time after 2022’s infamous Will Smith slap, and is certainly hot news right now. Jimmy is married to Molly McNearney, co-head writer on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and also mum to two of his children. 

Moving swiftly on from Jimmy to Will Smith…

The Hollywood star has made his first in-person appearance since that infamous Oscars slap and accepted The Beacon Award at the African American Film Critics Association Awards. On accepting the Special Award, Will said: “Emancipation was the most difficult film of my entire career, it’s really difficult to transport a modern mind to that time period. It’s difficult to imagine that level of inhumanity.”

Now, who are the stars on PeopleWorld’s not so hot list today?

First up is Travis Scott who is reportedly being sought by New York police over alleged assault of nightclub worker. Travis has without question not been without controversy in recent years and has been keeping a relatively low profile since November 2021 when 10 people were killed by a crush during his set at the Astroworld festival in the States. 

Next up today is Chaka Khan. The singer was less than impressed after being ranked at No.29 on the Rolling Stone list of the 200 best singers of all time. On hearing that Mary J.Blige was ranked before her, Chaka reportedly said: “These b****es are blind as a mother f***ing bag! They need hearing aids” 

Mmm, Chaka, you need to seriously consider your words before lashing out!

The last ‘star’ on our not so hot list today is Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins who has made quite the name for herself (but not for good reasons)  in recent days on the show. Although fans of the show rejoiced initially as they heard her and Maxwell were to be dumped by their island, they were a little taken aback by the show’s latest twist. Olivia and Maxwell have now been left to decide who leaves next, so have a lot of power!
