First, it was Joohoney from K-Pop group MONSTA X who said farewell to netizens as he embarked on his enlistment as part of South Korea’s military service - now fans of Starship Entertainment group will have to contend with Kihyun now leaving the band for the exact same reasons.

With credit to Koreaboo for the translation, Kiyhun shared and handwritten note discussing his enlistment, which read: “Monbebe! It’s Kihyun! Are you having a good day today? I’ve been thinking a lot about how to write this letter, but even if I say this, Monbebe already knows so I won’t beat around the bush!”

“I will be enlisting in the military on August 22. I’ve already said this many times, but I know Monbebe will be worried, so I am relieved that I am finally announcing this. I’m grateful that there are so many people who support me. I will try to make use of this precious time that I have before I go!”

“The members, including myself, will be away for a while, so Monbebes don’t go anywhere else! I’m not kidding. I’m serious! Take care and eat well and be cheered up! I’ll be right back if you’re doing well! When I return, I will say, ‘I love you Monbebe” with the members. I’ll end it here. I love you bye bye!”

The enlistment marks the third member of MONSTA X to have joined the army, following last week's news regarding Joohoney’s and Minhyuk’s recent enlistment. Fans of the band can take solace though that another member, Shownu, has recently been discharged after completing his military service.
