Now the Nottingham-born Youtuber is redoing Band Aid’s 1984 classic ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ to raise funds for the Trussell Trust, a charity that works to end the need for food banks.

LadBaby and his wife Roxanne Hoyle have been ambassadors for the charity for several years and the pair have enlisted the help of Martin Lewis to raise money ‘in a year when people are struggling more than ever.’

Alongside Martin Lewis, yet to be announced ‘icons of the music industry’ are set to join LadBaby on the track, which will be essential as Mark Hoyle attempts to smash the record of music legends with an unprecedented fifth Christmas number one.

LadBaby have already made chart history as they are the only artist to achieve four consecutive number ones, but they are currently in joint first place with The Beatles who have had four Christmas number ones over their career.

In addition, the Beatles are the only act to have ever had both Christmas number one and two on two occasions, while George Michael repeated the record as part of Band Aid and Wham. LadBaby’s 2021 collaboration partner Ed Sheeran has also made first and second place with Beyoncé and Eminem duets.

Other records over the festive period have been set by Beatles’ band member Paul McCartney has been at the top of the charts eight times with various artists.

LadBaby’s 2022 entry will not only aim to beat the Beatles record but will also compete against enduring Christmas favourites such as Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas’ and Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’.

However, bookmakers are already ranking LadBaby’s rendition of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ as most likely to top the charts, ahead of its December 16 release.
