Jesy Nelson has spoken openly about how her mental health battles during her time in Little Mix. The singer explained how she doesn’t have any regrets after leaving the girl group in 2020 because she had to protect her mental health. 

Jesy - who has just released her latest solo single 'Bad Thing' - shot to fame in 2011 when the girl group won the X-Factor. Jesy and the group - Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock - all auditioned individually but were put together as a girl group following the global success of One Direction in the previous year.

Little Mix was the first group to win the competition and became the first ever girl group to win a Brit Award. They had chart success with songs ‘DNA’, ‘Salute’ and ‘Woman Like Me’. Jesy left the group in 2020 and the three remaining girls announced they would be taking an indefinite hiatus in 2022 to pursue solo projects. 

Speaking to The Sun Jesy said “For me my mental health issues were an ongoing thing while I was in Little Mix. I was struggling with my body issues, I was constantly being trolled – and I really, really struggled with it.”  

Jesy also revealed in the interview that since leaving the group she hasn’t spoken to the other members since but did wish them all well in their solo endeavours. 

What are the Little Mix girls up to now? 

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has been very busy with her solo projects the singer starred in the Christmas film ‘Boxing Day’ and she is set to release her first memoir ‘Believe’ in October and she is narrating the audible version of Hans Christen Anderson's book The Little Mermaid.

Not only has work been keeping her busy but she also welcomed twins with professional footballer fiancé Andre Gray who plays for Aris in Greece.

Perrie Edwards has founded her own clothing line Disora. The brand is described on its website as “ready to wear luxury essentials.” The range features seamless streetwear items in neutral tones and modelled by Perrie herself. 

The singer who is currently working on solo material became a mum for the first time as she welcomed her baby boy with fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who plays for Liverpool. The couple plan to get married later this year. 

Perrie recently shared an Image to Instagram of herself holidaying with fellow Little Mixer Jade Thirwall in Santa Monica with Leigh-Anne jokingly commenting ‘FOMO’.

Just like Leigh-Anne, Jade made the move into acting and appeared on the British musical television series ‘Mood’ as well as featuring on Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK Vs the World.  Jade also owns a club in South Shields called Arbeia.

Jade is dating Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens and are often photographed together.
