Well I have to hand it to Madonna, she has done it once again. By announcing rescheduled dates for her Celebration tour before her 65th birthday, she was showing the world once again that if they thought she had any intention of giving up touring, then they couldn't be more wrong! Thanks Madge, you certainly know how to keep everyone on their toes.

In all honesty, I never knew how much of a Madonna fan I was until June of this year when the iconic singer was recovering from a serious bacterial infection. Whilst she was batting in ICU, I couldn’t believe there was still talk about the supposed ‘work’ she has done to her face and of course her age had to be brought up again and again.

Well, Madonna, you have shown all of them again in your inimitable style by releasing the announcement of your rescheduled Celebration tour dates on the eve of your 65th birthday. For those of you who think she should be ‘taking it easy’ after recovering from a serious bacterial infection, I 100% disagree with you.

Not only would Madonna be letting down her fans, but she would be letting herself down as she has always had such an incredibly strong work ethic. As I said previously, when the likes of Sir Mick Jagger can still be lauded for strutting the stage at 80, why can’t Madonna too?

Six days ago, Madonna posted a post to her Instagram with the caption: “All dressed up and Nowhere to go….. But soon, Very Soon, I’ll be travelling to you #celebrationtour Fans were quick to react to the new. One said: Madonna is a legend No matter what anybody say.” whilst another said:”This woman survived death and critics for the past 4 decades now Strongest person alive. Without her performances, there’s no modern singers or dancers. And she’s still wicked hot!! We love you!!”

After her health scare in June, Madonna released a statement on her Instagram in June to thank everyone for their support. What stood out for me in her statement were these words that she said: “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.”

For someone who has been labelled as a ‘diva’ in the past, but certainly not by me, these are incredibly humble words. The most powerful words are “I hate to disappoint anyone.”

Disappoint anyone Madonna? I don’t think so. The next generation of singers rising through the ranks have a lot to learn from you. Please keep performing for many years to come! We all need you as you are an incredibly powerful role model.

Happy 65th birthday Madonna, thanks for everything so far. I know you will continue to block out the haters and continue to thrive. I can't wait to see you what you have planned next.
