Matty Healy dating history: Ex-girlfriend ‘blindsided’ by new romance and Taylor Swift's ‘never been happier’

Taylor Swift told fans she has “never been this happy before in my life” whilst on stage in Massachusetts. The Grammy Award winning singer who is currently on her Era’s tour appeared to hint at her rumoured relationship with 1975 frontman Matty Healy. 

Ahead of singing ‘Question…?’ from her current Midnights album which was the surprise song that Taylor does twice every night she said “I want you all to know that I’ve never been this happy in my life, in all aspects of my life, ever before.”

“And I just wanna thank you for being a part of that. It is not just the tour, I just, I don’t know… I feel like for the first time everything makes sense.”

This comes after Matty’s ex-girlfriend Meredith Mickelson - who is living her best life in Cannes film festival - revealed that she was blindsided by the relationship which was just four weeks after they split up. Speaking to the Mirror Meredith said “I hope he treats her better than he treated me.”

Matty was still reportedly dating Meredith in February when he spent several days at the LA recording studio with Taylor. Sources claim that he was reluctant to go public with their relationship. The model started dating the London born singer in January 2023 but then in March he allegedly stopped texting her back and was seen in public with Taylor. 

The 1975 singer is the son of actor Tim Healy and Loose Women panellist Denise Welch who is celebrating her 65th birthday on May 22. The Loose Woman star stripped off for OK! Magazine shoot and vows to party until she's 90. Matty has a string of ladies he has dated over the past few years. We take a look at his dating history. 

December 2022 - Charlotte Briar D’Alessio

There were rumours that Matty and Canadian model and influencer Charlotte had been quietly dating with sources claiming they were about to go public with the relationship soon. Neither have addressed the rumours and it seems unclear if and even why they split. 

January 2020 - June 2022 FKA Twigs

Matty met singer FKA Twigs - who previously dated actor Shia LaBeouf - at a RuPaul DragCon UK event and the couple went Instagram official a month later. The pair split in June 2022 after reportedly not being able to make the relationship work post COVID-19 Pandemic. 

2015 - 2019 Gabriella Brooks

His longest relationship was with model Gabriella the couple dated for four years but it was Matty’s partying that eventually led to their breakup. Lucky for Gabriella shortly after their split she went on to date actor Liam Hemsworth after he split from Miley Cyrus. 

2015 - Halsey 

Although neither Matty or singer Halsey confirmed they were in a relationship many fans have speculated that Halsey ‘confirmed’ it in one of her songs. The lyrics to the song ‘Colors’ from the ‘Badlands’ album are “Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so, You said your mother only smiled on her TV show.” 

The singer could be referring to Matty’s little brother Louis and his mother Denise Welch on her Loose Women TV show. Halsey never confirmed it was Matty but did hint that the song was written about a romantic partner. 

2014 - Ali Lohan 

Younger sister of ‘Mean Girl’ Lindsay Lohan was rumoured to be dating Matty around the same time he was first linked to Taylor Swift but no one denied nor confirmed this.
