As Rihanna turns 35, take a look at which celebs have emulated the singer and fashion icon’s style

Rihanna is certainly shining bright like a diamond in 2023 as in the first two months she has performed at the Super Bowl LVII halftime in what was the second most viewed show, announced her second pregnancy and is now turning 35-years-old.

While the ‘Umbrella’ singer is known for her chart-topping songs, featuring roles in movies and her Savage x Fenty beauty line, Rihanna’s impact has gone far beyond that as she has also led the way as a fashion icon.

Awarded the 2014 Fashion Icon Award, Rihanna arrived in a naked Swarovski crystal dress and stated in her acceptance speech: “Growing up I didn't have a lot of access to fashion. But as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defence mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, ‘She can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit.’”

Kylie Jenner has often replicated Rihanna’s fashion choices as seen by the Kylie Cosmetics founder wearing a Alexandre Vauthier satin black shirt dress to the 2014 VMAs, shortly after Rihanna wore the same dress, in yellow, to a pre-Grammy party in January of that year.

In addition, Kylie has also shared snaps on Instagram that echo the style of Rihanna including a leopard print catsuit and a black and white camouflage oversized jacket.

Kylie’s older sister Kim is also partial to inspiration from Rihanna, evident from the sportswear trousers look that open up the side of the leg with poppers.

Rihanna’s maternity looks during her pregnancy raised the bar for mothers to be including mini tops, low-rise jeans and jackets, which influenced other expecting celebrities such as Pretty Little Liars’ Shay Mitchell.

Lastly, while many are inspired by Rihanna’s looks over the years, some end up wearing the exact same outfit. American rapper and musical artist Dess Dior was seen in what looks like a carbon copy of Rihanna’s Saint Laurent hot pink minidress.
